Learn about behavioural insights from over four decades of research in the areas of psychology, behavioural economics, and sociology through the lens of the practice of law
This course examines important behavioural insights from over four decades of research in the areas of psychology, behavioural economics, and sociology through the lens of the practice of law.
Focusing on the work of Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky as well as analysis from other domains, typical errors in judgment and decision-making are described, discussed, and explored.
Evidence-based strategies and techniques to help reduce undesirable effects of cognitive challenges and heuristics are shared with a view towards making future judgments and decisions more reliable and robust.
Although this course applies research from the area of law, it will be of interest to other professionals who routinely engage in negotiations and presentations.
