In this course, we discuss multiple situations that may lead to a conflict of interest, and how to handle these as they arise.
Firstly, we examine scenarios where the lawyers’ own interest may result in a conflict of interest.
We then delve into situations where a lawyer represents multiple clients, both when clients are part of related transactions, and unrelated transactions.
We also discuss what considerations should be given to former clients, when taking on new clients, in order to protect their interests.
Lastly, we consider how third-party interests may introduce conflicts of interest.
