“Effectively Managing Difficult Dialogue” is the perfect course for anyone with important relationships, where it is critical to be able to openly discuss and resolve situations involving disagreement or disappointment while maintaining or enhancing the strength of the relationship. David Town has a background of more than 20 years in the leadership of Human Resources and over the past 15 years has developed unique expertise in the filed of difficult dialogue. David has been a member of the part-time Faculty of Continuing Education at Seneca College where he teaches Organizational Behaviour. In this course participants will learn:
• A simple three-step process required to engage in dialogue that is candid, authentic and respectful
• How to deal with emotions and other reactions that impact effective dialogue – this includes learning specific strategies to manage spontaneous conversations involving disagreement, conflict or confrontation
• How to plan for difficult dialogue
• Specific strategies for starting and staying in dialogue
