The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of cases where people have been falsely accused of crimes, using true cases from within the Canadian criminal justice system. False accusation, also known as “wrongful accusation” or “groundless accusation” is a claim or allegation of wrongdoing that is untrue and/or otherwise unsupported by facts. Based on chapters from Tough Crimes and More Tough Crimes in the Durvile True Cases books, this course contains stories by Marie Henein, Mark Brayford, Justice James Ogle, Mona, Duckett, and Donald Bayne.
