One is the current Chief Justice of Ontario. The other is a former Supreme Court of Canada justice. Long before they donned judicial robes, they established a wonderful friendship. They took a similar path, trod first by Mr. Binnie. They both attended law school at the University of Toronto, then articled at MacKinnon McTaggart, which the Chief Justice has said “was a bit of a cradle for the judiciary”. Now for the first time these old pals share the TLA stage discussing their lives and careers and peppering each other with questions. Who knows what they’ll say? But how could their conversation not be interesting?! Both speakers are past recipients of the TLA Award of Distinction.
